My Aunt Butterfly is an extraordinary woman. She is the renowned lady of the Cui family in the capital, a refined and elegant member of a distinguished family.

我的姑姑崔蝶是一個了不起的人物。

她是京城崔家的才女，她也是個溫婉端莊，清婉隽秀的名門之女。

Although our Cui family cannot be compared to the imperial palace or noble mansions, we are a respected family with a history spanning over a century. My aunt gained fame at a very young age. Suitors visited our home to propose in droves, nearly wearing down our doorstep, but my aunt would disagree. As a result, she gradually became an old maid, though the stream of suitors never stopped, only dwindling in number.

來我們家提親的人從來都是絡繹不絕的，都快把我們家的門檻踏破了，可是姑姑就是不同意，就這樣她也漸漸成了老姑娘了，然而提親求娶的人仍然沒有斷過，只是越來越少了。

Everyone knew that the Cui family had a lady of stunning beauty and unparalleled talent. However, this lady had exceedingly high standards, and even the sons of noble families couldn't catch her eye.

所有人都知道崔家養了個國色天香，傾國傾城，絕代風華的大才女，只是此女卻心性極高，一般男兒，名門貴子在她眼中也是瞧不上的。

As a child, I didn't enjoy embroidery and preferred reading and writing, practicing calligraphy, and learning martial arts.

我小的時候也不喜歡女紅刺繡，反而喜歡讀書寫字，習文練武。

When my mother discovered my unconventional interests, she intentionally or unintentionally encouraged me to get closer to my aunt, even hinting that I should try to please her. I didn't quite understand my mother's intentions as a young child. However, I was chosen by my aunt during my childhood and eventually lived with her.

我的娘親發現我的這些不入流，不随大衆的性情時，她總是無意或者是有意讓我多和這個姑姑親近，甚至暗示我主動讨好姑姑。那個才幾歲的我并不太明白母親的想法，只是在孩童的時候我被姑姑挑中，後來也随着她一起生活。
